The nose reveals vibrant purple flowers, smashed blueberries, and ripe plum, enhanced by pebble and graphite minerality. Hints of spiced cherry cordial, salinity, nutmeg, and black pepper add complexity, while a lift of raspberry liqueur brings freshness and brightness.

On the palate, ripe blue fruits and raspberry coulis lead the way, complemented by juicy plums and stony undertones. The wine is full-bodied with a rich, plush mouthfeel, and finishes with warm spice notes of chicory, mace, and toasted filbert, leaving a lasting impression.

The long vintage allowed for us to make easy and precise picking decisions to bring signature soft, but stuctured balance to the mouthfeel to all the wines in 2023. Tannins were are bit big in 2023 that lead to adjustments in cap management to include more oxygen during pumpovers, and more frequent, but short pumpovers to ensure proper extraction to acheive our desired balance. Each vineyard block was held in tank separate through to barreling until March when lots and barrels were selected selected. We racked to blend and return to barrels for a couple more months to acheive perfect mouthfeel. The wine was aged in a mix of French puncheons and barrique barrels (~35% new) for 10 months before bottling.
