This wine is a blend of 2 lots made in different ways. The base is made from 8% Gewürtztraminer from Clarksburg and 92% Riesling from hoot Owl Vineyard in Alexander Valley. These grapes were pressed upon arrival to the winery, and allowed to ferment until we achieved the perfect balance of acid and sweetness. We then blended in a small amount of white port style wine that we made from Marsanne and Roussanne sourced from our River Oaks Vineyard in Alexander Valley. This addition rounds out the mouthfeel, and bring flavors of ripe peach, apricot, caramel.
