On the nose, hints of dried flower petals, dried cranberries, fresh under-ripe raspberries, black pepper, and mace lead the way. On the palate, fine tannins carry fresh red and blue fruits and earthy notes across the palate.

Syrah brings a bit of brine and meat with fresh blueberries and a rich mid-palate. Grenache brings texture and red fruit, and Mourvedre brings the dark red fruit and earth.

Friction Viognier Oak Knoll Napa Valley - New Release
A gem cannot be polished without Friction. Viognier is a difficult grape to grow, in restricted conditions and therefore a difficult wine to make, requiring specific ongoing attention in order to flourish – the resulting wine from the efforts however is a polished gem of a wine. Sourced and hand harvested 100% from Rodger’s Vineyard in Oak Knoll, Napa Valley, the 2022 Viognier has notes of yellow peach, while cinnamon and citrus blossom dominate on the nose. On the palate, peach persists with accents of dried pineapple and apricot. The mouthfeel is soft like viognier should be and is balanced with a bright natural acidity. Fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks then is transferred to neutral French barrels to finish maturing.
