WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE CELLAR

Harvest has begun! Abundant rainfall this season has fostered vigorous, healthy canopies across our vineyards, laying the groundwork for an outstanding crop. The summer has been notably mild, allowing for a prolonged, gentle ripening period that is enhancing both color and flavor development in the grapes. Due to this gradual pace, our harvest is running about a week later than usual, but we are already seeing the benefits in the quality of the fruit. Out in the vineyards, our Winemakers are carefully monitoring the vines and grape clusters, making precise adjustments to ensure we achieve perfect ripeness. This is our favorite time of year, and we’re eager to share the results of this exceptional growing season with you.

2023 Sliver Red Wine

With an amazing deep purple hue, the 2023 Sliver Red wine immediately captivates. The nose offers a tantalizing blend of nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, toasted almond skin, maple, peppercorn, lavender, and black cherry cola. On the palate, chewy, foundational tannins anchor vibrant flavors of sweet anise, blueberry, bramble fruit, and vanilla, complemented by notes of cookie dough and pie crust. Layers of brown and dark spices mingle with plum, dried currant, black raspberry, and hints of blueberry, all lifted by a subtle touch of orange liqueur. This complex profile creates a truly memorable and indulgent tasting experience.

2023 Dérangé Red Blend

2023 Dérangé Red Blend is a bold, richly textured wine with ample ripe tannins and deep color, delivering a plush yet refined mouthfeel. Balanced acidity adds a lively tension, while French oak softens and elegantly frames the generous layers of black and blue fruit.

Expect vibrant notes of currant and blackberry, intertwined with hints of star anise, nutmeg, and vanilla, all nuanced by subtle touches of ginger snaps and persimmon. Delicate accents of black pepper and earthy umami lend further complexity, resulting in a wine that is both opulent and beautifully balanced.

2023 The Prisoner Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

The 2023 Prisoner Cabernet Sauvignon palate is soft and plush, unfolding into a full, generous mid-palate and a sturdy, lingering finish. Ripe black and blue fruits dominate, with layers of cassis, blackberry pie, and deep purple plum, complemented by hints of bay leaf, cracked pepper, and crushed herbs that evoke a true sense of place. Integrated oak brings melted spice notes and toasted vanilla bean, seamlessly framing and elevating the vibrant fruit profile while adding subtle minerality for depth and complexity.
