Aged in 45% new oak, a mix of French and American and aged for 16 months before bottling.  Notes of ripe black cherry, cola, toasted vanilla, cherry pick, earth, ginger spice, clove, and nutmeg dominate the aromas. On the palate, Soft but opulent with bright acidity and elegant tannins. Flavors of black cherry, marion and olalaberry, and licorice are spiced with ginger, clove, and vanilla.  Pair this with a filet, pizza, or baked eggplant parmesan.

Magnum wines are ideal for larger gatherings, they are aesthetically elegant and impressive for your guests. … and the wine in these bottles mature better, slower and taste consistently better than when matured in standard bottles. 2019 was a slightly delayed harvest but a slightly warmer harvest. An abundance of fruit in the blend. Looking back shows the character and evolution of The Prisoner Red Blend. A wine made to drink now, I say “for the impatient,” does have stamina to age some. The blend is very similar to the 2022. Same components with slightly different ratios to maintain consistency. There will be some bottle aging characteristics, a little more vanilla from the barrels, dried fruit, and soft tannins. Enjoy this wine with short ribs, a pulled port BBQ sandwich, and a mix of textures and flavors from dim sum.
