Born from the dark and provocative world of The Prisoner Wine Company enters a new white wine expression that explores light, vibrance and elegance. Blindfold was crafted to awaken your senses. Experience our still Blanc de Noir with a heightened sense of sight, taste, and touch as what you see and what you taste may not be what you expected.

Still, white-pressed pinot noir with notes of fresh, in-season citrus, white flower, white peach, a hint of tart cranberry. Delicate but lively, elegant, zesty & bright. This wine is made from mostly pinot noir with small amounts of Viognier and Gewurztraminer.

‘Blanc de noir’ translates to white of black, or white wine of black/red grapes. Blanc de noir is most commonly seen as a sparkling wine or champagne, but a still Blanc de Noir produces a light, elegant and vibrant white wine with all the nuance and aromatics of a pinot noir.

Pinot Noir grapes were picked early to avoid high alcohol and saturated sugar flavors, and hand harvested to ensure fruit integrity of this delicate varietal.

Direct to press processing allowed control of extraction and monitoring of color to produce a white, still wine with the slightest salmon-colored hue. Viognier and Gewurztraminer were blended in to add fuller texture and a rich mouthfeel.

Food Pairing:

Committed to reinventing the familiar

At The Prisoner Wine Company, we are focused on reinventing traditional ways of thinking about wine and continuously look for new ways to present the familiar. Our red wines showcase this philosophy, but an opportunity exists to explore this in the world of white wines.

The idea of Blindfold was born from this thinking – do what was least expected and introduce light, vibrant and elegant wines in a way only The Prisoner Wine Company can: a still Blanc de Noir, or a white Pinot Noir. In our true unconventional nature, our winemaking team was thrilled at the challenge to make a white wine from traditional red wine grapes. The result is a beautiful wine that gives you all the bright fruit and acidity of an early harvested Pinot Noir, in a crisp and delicate white wine expression.

A white wine as elegant as our still Blanc de Noir deserves a light an elegant package as well, which is why we have chosen to transition to a new look for this brand of white wines. Our packaging juxtaposes the soft, flowing form of a blindfold with the strength of a metallic plate, as our brand celebrates the strength in softness and the power in delicacy. We hope you enjoy our new Blindfold Blanc de Noir as much as we do!
